A veneer is a very thin shell of porcelain bonded to the front surface of a tooth. Because porcelain handles light the way enamel does, a well-made veneer is extremely difficult to pick out, even close up.
Veneers are a good answer when several things need fixing at once — a chipped edge, a tooth that sits slightly back, and a shade that will not respond to whitening. Where only one of those is true, bonding or whitening alone is often the smarter and cheaper option, and we will tell you that.
The veneer process
Design
Photos, shade matching and a discussion about shape. Nothing starts until you are happy with the plan.
Preparation
A very thin layer of enamel is removed so the veneer sits flush rather than bulky.
Temporaries
You leave with temporary veneers while the porcelain is made, so you are never without front teeth.
Fit and bond
We try them in, check the colour in daylight, and only then bond them permanently.

How many veneers will I need?
It depends on how wide your smile is when you grin. Some people need two, most need six to eight across the upper front. We will show you in a photograph.
Can veneers stain?
Porcelain itself does not stain the way natural enamel does, though the bonded edges can pick up colour over many years. Normal hygiene and regular cleanings keep them looking right.
What if one chips?
It is uncommon, but a single veneer can be replaced without redoing the others. If you grind your teeth we will make you a night guard to protect them.
