Veneers in Tyler, TX
What Are Veneers?
A veneer is a tooth-colored cover that is applied to your tooth to hide any cosmetic flaws. These veneers are made from porcelain and are designed to match the appearance of your natural teeth. This procedure is versatile, gives a natural look, and is minimally invasive. It can enhance your smile, boost your confidence, and address issues such as orthodontic problems and tooth damage. By bonding the veneer to your tooth, it not only improves aesthetics but also strengthens your enamel and provides an extra layer of protection. What to Expect From the Veneer Placement Process
Consultation
Dr. L Nash will assess your teeth to eliminate the possibility of tooth decay and other oral health issues. Once he confirms that your teeth are in good condition for veneers, he will discuss your cosmetic objectives with you.
Shade Guide
Your veneers will be matched to the color of your natural or surrounding teeth for a seamless blend.
Enameloplasty
Once your mouth is numbed, we will utilize a dental drill to eliminate around .5 mm of enamel from your tooth. This will match the thickness of the veneer and prevent it from protruding.
Impressions
Once your teeth are prepared, impressions of them will be taken and sent to a dental lab. These impressions will serve as a model for creating your veneers.
Fabrication
During this appointment, we will bond temporary veneers to your teeth while the dental lab designs and creates your permanent veneers, which may take up to 6 weeks.
Placement & Bonding
After receiving your official veneers at our office, we will assess their fit and appearance before bonding them to your natural teeth.
What Can Veneers Fix?
Dealing with Stained Teeth
If you have tooth stains or discoloration, veneers offer a solution. By bonding a porcelain shell that is lighter than your natural teeth, veneers can effectively hide these imperfections. Unlike frequent teeth whitening sessions, which may be required every year or few years, these tooth-colored veneers can last for a remarkable 15 to 20 years. Even severe discoloration can be effectively concealed with the opaque nature of veneers.
