The cheapest dentistry is the kind you never need.
A preventive visit is two things: a thorough clean, and a careful look for anything changing. We use digital x-rays and intraoral photos so you can see what we see on the screen — early decay, a hairline crack, gum pockets starting to deepen.
Catching those at millimetre scale means a filling instead of a crown, or a deep clean instead of gum surgery. Most patients do well on a six-month rhythm; if your gums need more support we will say so and explain why.
What a preventive visit includes
Exam and screening
A full check of teeth, existing work, bite, gums and soft tissues, including an oral cancer screening.
Professional cleaning
Scaling and polishing to remove the hardened plaque a toothbrush simply cannot shift.
Digital x-rays
Low-dose images that show decay between teeth and below existing fillings.
A plan you can act on
Practical technique coaching for your mouth — no lecture, no shame, just what actually works.

How often should I come in?
Six months suits most people. If you have gum disease, a dry mouth, or a history of rapid decay we may suggest three or four months for a while, and tell you when you can go back to six.
Are dental x-rays safe?
Digital x-rays use a very low dose and we only take what is clinically useful. If you have recent images from another office we are happy to request them instead.
It has been years and I am embarrassed.
Many of our favourite patients said the same thing at their first visit. We offer non-judgmental advice and go at your pace.
