How long does a crown last?
With good hygiene and a stable bite, many crowns last well over a decade. We check yours at every preventive visit and tell you early if one is starting to fail.
Will people be able to tell?
That is the goal — no. We shade-match to your surrounding teeth, and for front teeth we will check the colour in daylight before anything is cemented.
Can you fix an old crown that looks grey at the gum?
Usually yes. A dark line at the gum is often an older metal-based crown. Replacing it with an all-ceramic crown removes the line.
